Biography of Rubel Hossain

Rubel Hossain is a Bangladeshi cricketer who was born on January 1, 1990, in Bagerhat, Khulna, Bangladesh. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who has been known for his ability to swing the ball both ways and his aggressive style of bowling.

Rubel Hossain started his cricketing career at a young age and played for the under-19 team of Bangladesh. He made his debut in first-class cricket in 2007 for Khulna Division. He then went on to make his debut in List-A cricket for Khulna Royal Bengals in 2008. He was quickly noticed for his raw pace and the ability to extract swing and soon made his debut for the Bangladesh national cricket team in November 2009 against Zimbabwe.

In his debut match, Rubel made an instant impact, picking up 4 wickets for just 33 runs in his 10 overs. This performance helped him earn a spot in the Bangladesh squad for the 2010 Asia Cup. In this tournament, Rubel Hossain took 11 wickets, which included a hat-trick against Sri Lanka, becoming the first Bangladeshi bowler to achieve this feat in ODIs.

Rubel's international career hit a rough patch when he was involved in a controversy during the 2015 World Cup quarterfinal match against India. In that match, Rubel dismissed Virat Kohli, and the Indian captain was seen arguing with the umpires over the legitimacy of the delivery. Rubel was subsequently banned for one match for using inappropriate language during the on-field altercation.

Despite this setback, Rubel Hossain continued to perform well for the Bangladesh team. He played a key role in Bangladesh's historic Test victory against Australia in 2017, picking up 4 wickets in the match. In the same year, he played a vital role in Bangladesh's triumph in the Tri-Nation series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

Rubel has also been a part of various T20 leagues around the world, including the Indian Premier League (IPL), Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and Pakistan Super League (PSL). In the 2016 IPL auction, he was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders for a price of INR 1.2 crore.

Rubel Hossain has had his share of ups and downs in his cricketing career. However, he has always bounced back with his hard work and dedication towards the game.
